Welcome to Westhill Academy’s library page.
The school librarian is Mrs McCartney, and the library is open Monday-Thursday.
Pupils are welcome to use the library from 8:45am, and during break and lunchtimes to read or catch up with homework. Lunchtime clubs include chess, board games and a reading group.
There is a wide range of non-fiction and fiction (including a large manga collection), study guides and other resources to support learning and encourage reading for pleasure.
Pupils and staff can borrow books for up to 4 weeks and also have free access to digital services such as audiobooks, e-books, newspapers, magazines and databases.
Need some reading inspiration?
Search the library catalogue – it has handy sections to browse, or you can search for a specific author or title. See where the item is located then ask in the library if you want me to get it for you (if we don’t have it in school already).
Alternatively, log into Libby and Borrowbox to borrow ebooks or audiobooks or Press Reader for magazines and newspapers. You will need your borrower number and PIN to access these – just ask me if you’re not sure.
